How to purchase a relocatable home

Have you decided that a relocatable home is the right home for you? Here’s how you can purchase your very own.

After viewing our display cabin ‘The Woodsman’ online, you can make a private appointment to view our display cabin in Yellingbo. At this appointment, you’ll be able to take your time browsing our display and picking the brain of the cabin builder Gerard - one half of the owners of Ironbark Cabins - who will answer all of your questions that you have about building your tiny home/cabin. Alternatively, if you’re based interstate, we can host a Zoom meeting and even walk you around the cabin virtually.

Once deciding to purchase an Ironbark Cabin, we take a small holding deposit and have a preliminary agreement signed by you. This deposit enables us to get started working on Site Surveys, Preliminary Drafting, Soil Reports, Engineers Footing Design, BAL & Wind assessment & Energy Reports. This gets the ball rolling and provides the foundation on which building/planning applications are based. We can assist with as much or as little of the council application process as necessary.

We then arrange to meet you on-site (depending on location) to determine access, a suitable position for the cabin & the availability of services.

Either during or after this meeting, you will consult directly with the owner/builder (Gerard) to design your dream relocatable home if you want a custom design. You can also choose one of our pre-designed cabins. These consultations determine internal layout, external cladding choice, window placement and everything that is important to you in your new home.

We then have some designs/layouts professionally drafted and will work with you as long as required to create your ideal cabin. Once the cabin has been approved by council, we take a 10% deposit.

The next consultation is to determine the internal look & feel of the cabin.  Lisa - one of the co-owners - takes you through the colour and product selection process. If you know exactly what you want, you can provide the colour and product selections for tapware, paint, flooring, tiles and more at this meeting. If you are unsure, Lisa will get a brief from the client on what is important to you and what style you are looking to achieve. We then have a personalised internal ‘lookbook’ produced for you which includes colour and style suggestions on everything from the toilet to the kitchen sink.

Once the colour and fitout selections are complete, the build then starts with each build taking approximately 12 weeks. You’ll be able to visit to inspect your cabin build at any time during the process.

Approximately 1-2 weeks prior to delivery, we visit the site to install the footings and once completed, the cabin is transported via a flat bed truck & craned into position.
